Basteltraum's Challenge #105: Watercolors

Hello crafty friends

phew - here we are again - in the fall season!!

I don't know about you, but for me, this is my favorite season when it comes to colors. All the pretty leaves and golden woods, I love it!! (only the fog can stay away, ew!! :-) )

So this month's challenge hosted by bastel-traum.ch is all about watercolors!

My inspiration for you is a bunch of adorable images by Lawn Fawn (you will find the product links down below) that I colored with regular watercolors out of a pan. Then I fussy cut them (yes, by hand, no plotter involved! Sometimes I really prefer cutting by hand, it is still the prettiest cut, although not the fastest :-))

For the background, I embossed a white paper with a woven basket pattern. A few spritzes of liquid watercolor for are adding more interest to it.

Then I diecut some leaves out of watercolor cardstock and sponged different distress oxides on it (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple and Rustic Wilderness) and at the end I spritzed again some liquid watercolor for even more texture on the leaves.

I had a feeling my images needed a ground to stand somewhere. So I cut a piece of kraft cardstock for this purpose.

An now it came to "puzzling" :-D by that, I mean making an arrangement on my card panel. Sometimes it can be tricky! But what is always helping me, is taking a photo of the different steps and at the end when I take away all elements for glueing them. This way I can cheat on the photo to see how the arrangement has going to go. Smart, eh? :-)

The sentiment (I got a few pre-cuts of these by a friend, I guess it is by Mama Elephant) with its sparkling gold cardstock was the perfect one for this fall themed card. And voilà, here we have my inspiration for you!

I cannot wait seeing your project on bastel-traum's blog website - see you over there!
